About fifteen people met at Town Hall on July 6th for a second meeting about how to best spend the $244,000 DNR Parks and Playgrounds grant to spruce up the Vienna Entrance Park. The next meeting will be at Town Hall on Monday July 20th at 7pm.
It was determined that we can spend the money only for the three main things originally proposed (no new additions), but we can change the exact amounts: a playground (largest amount), a pavilion, and a memorial (smallest amount).
- Locally-based Cunningham Recreation helped us put together the playground equipment in the original grant.
- Scenic Shelters offers some attractive pavilion options that are being explored.
- Here is a rendering of what a memorial could look like by fixing up the existing 20 foot diameter fountain. This is not the final (it’s oriented wrong on the lot for one thing), but it gives just one idea of what could be done in the space.
