About Us

WVCI-LP Vienna is a Low Power FM radio station, preparing to launch in Fall 2026, for the town of Vienna, Maryland.

The station is a project of the Community Informatics Institute (CII), a non-profit organization founded in 2023 to use data, information, communication, and technology to strengthen rural and disadvantaged communities. CII’s other major project is the Dorchester Connect website that serves Dorchester County, Maryland.

We are currently gathering community input and raising funds to purchase startup equipment for the station (antenna, receiver, emergency alert system, tower, mounting hardware).

Founding Underwriters of the station, so far, include the George B. Todd Fund, Hebron Savings Bank, KG Freight, Shore Life Property Management, and Maritimatix.
